Marketing Strategies: Major Concerns in the Power Distance Index (PDI) (Essay Sample) Content: Major concerns in the power distance index (PDI)It refers to the extent to which the lower ranking individuals of a society accept and expects that power be distributed equally. Mainly it is used in psychological and sociological studies on societal management between individuals and individualà ¢Ã¢â ¬s perception of that management (Willer,2009). When coming up with marketing strategies to countries with major power distance index a number of factors must be put in considerations.Cultural consideration should be a great concern to the marketer (Noh hyung Nung,2010). They should sell products that are in conformity with the culture otherwise a lot of opposition will come from leaders and spread to the public resulting in loss of customers .Language used when promoting their products should be in line as that used by the community where products are being promoted. If this is not done customers may not understand the features of the products leading to loss of major market or consumers.Organization should also be aware of the power distance in charitable behavior. According to research done people are less responsible towards charitable behaviors in countries with high power distance. This is due to their rooted personality and acceptance of inequality which blinds their eyes from social activities that might benefit them. Policies should related to social responsibility should be properly formulated by taking this issue in consideration.Democracy should also be a major concern to the marketers.
